Named after the Mayor of Detroit from 1950 to 1957, Cobo Center first opened as Cobo Hall in Detroit, Michigan in 1960. It was expanded later in 1989, and become home to one of the largest contiguous exhibition floor spaces in America. It can accommodate groups from 30 to as many as 10,000 people with its exquisite banquet rooms and over 80 meetings rooms comprising of 178,446 square feet.

These include the annual North American International Motor Show, the International G-7 Job Summit, the annual Society of Automotive Engineers International Congress, and the Fight for Freedom Fund Dinner of the Detroit NAACP Freedom Institute.
